The BBC (Brazilian British Centre) was conceived by Cultura Inglesa São Paulo to gather all the institutions and activities related to the culture, education, leisure and commerce between Brazil and the United Kingdom, including the Cultura Inglesa´s Headquarter, and it was inaugurated in 2.000, with the presence of Mario Covas, the state governor by that time. It was projected by Botti Rubin Arquitetos Associados, and the complex has a total area of 13.000 m², and houses the Duke of York Auditorium with capacity of 160 seats, three galleries for exhibitions, a library specialized in contemporaneous British reading and information centre about the United Kingdom, the Sofá Café with a differentiated cafe service with space to hold 70 people, rooms for individual or group meetings, as well as the following institutions: The General British Consulate, The British Council, The British Commerce Chamber, The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation), Visit Britain and The British Society São Paulo.

Auditorium

The Sala Cultura Inglesa of the British Brazilian Centre offers ideal conditions for your event. With capacity for 160 people (157 fixed seats and three seats for special needs), the theatre offers perfect acoustics and visibility from any part. The seats are comfortable and practical, with a retractable flap for note-taking as necessary. The theatre also offers state-of-the-art infrastructure in equipment.

Meeting
Rooms

Three strategically positioned meeting rooms are located on the first floor, offering privacy and tranquillity for your meeting, presentation, or workshop. The rooms have fitted carpets and retractable dividing panels to double or triple available space, according to the needs of your event. Each room has the following dimensions: 9.88m. long, 4.87m. wide and 2.80m. high, with capacity for 30, 60 or 90 people, and they can be arranged in various formats (auditorium, tables in U-shape, or board meeting layout amongst others). Also offered is space for coffee breaks, technical support and hire of audio and video equipment.
